Run 100K in September 2023

My target 100 kms

… and done!

Although I completed the 100km run a few days ago, I had always planned to finish the month in style and combine a planned trip to Amsterdam with one final outing. I was joined by my brother in law for the final 4 miles, and our run took us past some of the best sites in the Dutch capital. The weather was beautiful, and although we had to stop to take a few photos, dodge a few cyclists, and cross a ferry, it was the best way to end the month! Please donate if you can.

#19

Summer is definitely over. Those warm and bright summer evening runs have been replaced with dark and wet ones almost overnight. Puddle hopping + moonlight = a pair of wet socks. Very glad to have put the effort in earlier in the month to get some miles down. Very close to the 100km now, and plenty of time to run it. I wouldn’t want to be out running in the rain and dark too long!

10k #2

Second 10k of the week. Having had ACL surgery in the past, my knee is not enjoying the impact of road running every day. This one felt slower, but the time was marginally quicker, possibly a testament to improved fitness levels without realising. Anyway, just over halfway through the month, and nearly three-quarters of the way to 100km. Thanks to those who have donated / encouraged so far. If you’re viewing the page for the first time, please donate if you can!

First 10k

Running 10k seemed unthinkable a couple of weeks ago, but as I set off tonight, I felt good and just kept running. I’ve not run this distance for about 8 years, so very happy to dip under an hour!

Run number 9

Heatwave over the last few days making this week a tough one. Plenty of early morning and late night runs trying to keep cool!

I’m running 100K in September for GOSH Charity!

I’m challenging myself to run 100 kilometres this September to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity (GOSH Charity).

Every day brings new challenges at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). Every day, around 750 seriously ill children and young people are seen at GOSH from all over the UK for life-changing treatment and care. Every day, doctors and nurses battle the most complex illnesses, and the brightest minds come together to achieve pioneering medical breakthroughs.

And with every kilometre I run, I’ll be helping GOSH Charity give seriously ill children the chance of a better future.

This extraordinary hospital has always depended on charitable support, so please help me to achieve my goal by giving whatever you can; no amount is too small to make a difference.
