Naughty knees
Good Morning, I wanted to provide you all with an update on my May challenge. When I set out to do this I assumed I'd go hard the first 2 weeks and take it easier the last 2 weeks. However at the grand age of 38 my body, knees especially had other ideas and I also fell down a rabbit hole (not Alice in wonderland style unfortunately). Therefore when I came to the 2 week mark I sadly hadn't even made it to 50 miles due to having 1 day of complete rest on 5th and 2 days of fast walk/jogging as that's all I could manage. However I'm pleased to say I'm back and although still sore I'm ready for the last stretch. I'm attempting to get through 5miles a day either in 1 whole run or split into 2 smaller ones dependant on daily commitments and cross the 100mile finish line on 29th in time for the end of the month. Although my body is in complete shock as to why I've suddenly gone from Couch potato to wanting to run every 5 minutes, I can say I feel healthier and broken all at the same time. Thanks again for all your valued and much needed support and sponsorship.Getting ready
It's nearly May 1st, I'm all prepared mentally not entirely sure physically 😅. You will all be able to track progress on my page as all runs are linked automatically to the page via strava. Sometimes it will be 1.5miles lunchtime work runs or 3-4miles on an evening and longer runs on weekends. I'm hoping my stubbornness, Epsom salts, massage gun and will power will see me through the 100mile mark for May 31st. Its all for such an amazing cause and I have every faith I will see it through to the end with lots of money raised for a fantastic cause. Thank you for all the generous donations this far.I’m running 100 miles in May for GOSH Charity!
I’m challenging myself to run 100 miles in May to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity (GOSH Charity).
Every day brings new challenges at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). Every day, around 750 seriously ill children and young people are seen at GOSH from all over the UK for life-changing treatment and care. Every day, doctors and nurses battle the most complex illnesses, and the brightest minds come together to achieve pioneering medical breakthroughs.
And with every mile I run, I’ll be helping GOSH Charity give seriously ill children the chance of a better future.
This extraordinary hospital has always depended on charitable support, so please help me to achieve my goal by giving whatever you can; no amount is too small to make a difference.
