Why We’re Swimming 8KM for Great Ormond Street Hospital
Hi! We’re Isabel, Olivia and Cruz, and this March we’re taking on the 8KM swim challenge in support of Great Ormond Street Hospital.
We took part in this challenge last year and together we raised £1,000. It was tough, but we were really proud of ourselves for finishing it and for helping raise money for such an important cause.
Isabel swims with her swim club, so she helps keep us focused during training. Olivia keeps everyone motivated, especially when it starts to feel hard. Cruz brings lots of energy and makes sure we don’t give up.
Swimming 8KM takes a lot of practice and determination. There are days when our arms feel tired and we don’t feel like jumping in the pool — but we remind ourselves why we’re doing it.
We’re swimming to help the children and families supported by Great Ormond Street Hospital. Knowing that our challenge can help make a difference keeps us going.
This year we’re hoping to do even better than last time. Every donation really helps and motivates us to keep pushing through every length.
Thank you for supporting us!We are so proud of them for stepping up again — and grateful for any support as they take on this challenge once more.
I’m swimming 8km in March for GOSH Charity!
I’m challenging myself to swim 8km this March to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity (GOSH Charity).
Childhood is special. It should be a time of joy, wonder, curiosity and fun. Of making friends, making mistakes, and growing into the adults we become. But it’s also fragile, and sometimes all too brief.
That’s why Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity raises funds to help give seriously ill children childhoods that are fuller, funner and longer. For the children from all over the UK who are treated by Great Ormond Street Hospital every day, for children with rare or complex illnesses everywhere, for this generation and all those to come. Because no childhood should be lost to serious illness.
And with every kilometre I swim, and every pound raised, we’ll be helping to give seriously ill children the best chance and the best childhood possible.
Please help me to achieve my goal by giving whatever you can; no amount is too small to make a difference.
