Day 30 complete!
I can't believe I have hit my third target of £600!!! I'm amazed and so happy. One day left of the challenge tomorrow and I've still got 8.3km left to do!!Day 19 complete
Have done a few days of at least two walks so that I can get the full 5k in. Really grateful to my friends who have walked with me - it helps a lot to be talking at the same time! I am still absolutely loving being outside in the mild October air. I no longer need to do 5k a day - only 3.5k now - in order to reach 150k by October 31st. But I'm so used to walking as much as I can now that I'm still aiming to do as far as possible every day! I want to reach £600. That's the goal!Day 13 complete
After lunch walk to get L to sleep. Thankful that he takes so long to nod off! Managed 7k - super helpful chatting on the phone to people whilst walking - this time Tom's Grandma!Day 12 complete
Got unbelievably stressed out from toddler mum duties so left him at my parents and walked to a sunny hill, where I laid down for a while. Second part of the walk completed quickly before dinner, again thanks to the support of my family distracting little L.Day 11 complete
Night time 5k around my neighboured because it feels safe. It also feels amazing being out in the fresh air after dinner!HIT MY TARGET OF £500!!!
Absolutely crazy. I'm now moving it up to £600 and hoping I'll somehow be able to get another £100 in donations. I'm really enjoying the walking!Day 10 complete
Walk in the woods with Lucy (who pushed the pram the whole way!). Sunny, fresh air, beautiful trees... Gorgeous!Day 9
The one day of the month I'd been banking kilometres for so that I wouldn't need to walk.Day 8 complete
It feels like walking has taken over my life, and it's only been an hour a day for just over a week! I am so so pleased with the amount of donations so far. I just need to keep asking, and keep showing people my progress. I read some stories of parents whose children have been in GOSH. They made me walk faster.Day 7 complete
3k around Kingston Lacy with Lauren and little Z. Mooched about looking at plants, drinking hot chocolates and babycinnos and playing in the park. Autumnal acers were beautiful.Day 6 complete
We got VERY wet walking around the sang. It was absolutely lovely being outside in the misty rain trying to spot kingfishers though. Walking with my very supportive husband and our little babe.Day 5 complete
I walked over 10k in total today!! God I was so tired. I really needed more sleep this morning, desperately. I walked with my boy this morning and it was lovely:)Day 4 complete
7am - Oh god, I need to walk 5k today.Day 3 complete!
I power-walked along the beach from Alum Chine, into town and back again - a total of 6k! Remarkably tougher when pushing a pram, but glorious to spend a sunny October day with my boy. I have hit my original fundraising target of £150, so I've decided to put it up to a massive £500 and see how I get on!Day 2 complete!
Trickier today - walking in the dark after dinner came with some challenges! I need to figure out a new plan - one that's a bit safer! But I did do 5k in one go, so it's great to know I can and that it takes me an hour. Had my first sponsorships come in today - 7 people! 😁 Super grateful.Day 1 complete!
Today I walked over 7k, told my colleagues about the challenge, and posted on Facebook and Instagram!I’m walking 150K in October for GOSH Charity!
I’m challenging myself to walk 150 kilometres this October to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity (GOSH Charity).
Every day brings new challenges at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). Every day, around 750 seriously ill children and young people are seen at GOSH from all over the UK for life-changing treatment and care. Every day, doctors and nurses battle the most complex illnesses, and the brightest minds come together to achieve pioneering medical breakthroughs.
And with every kilometre I walk, I’ll be helping GOSH Charity give seriously ill children the chance of a better future.
This extraordinary hospital has always depended on charitable support, so please help me to achieve my goal by giving whatever you can; no amount is too small to make a difference.
Thank you to my Sponsors
