My target 100 kms

I've only gone and done it!!

I'm beyond excited to share that I've completed my 100km run for GOSH this February! In just 24 days, I managed to hit this incredible milestone, despite the cold and often unforgiving weather that February had to offer. It wasn't always easy, but every step of the way was worth it.

The journey has been challenging at times, but the outpouring of support from friends, family, and everyone who reached out with encouragement kept me going.  And the best part? with your help, I've raised a fantastic £1,436.25 (including Gift Aid!)   🥳.  I'm truly overwhelmed by everyone's generosity and couldn't have done this without you.

I'm by no means a runner, and have never considered myself one, but this challenge has been so much more than just completing the distance. It's helped me improve my mental health and fitness, and honestly, I've enjoyed every moment of it.  I've made great progress in getting my time down, and it's been amazing to see how far I've come!

Completing this run has also made me eager to keep going. I'm already thinking about my next challenge and how I can continue improving my running.  It's inspired me to set new goals and to keep up with the running. 💪🏽

I want to thank each and every person who supported me, whether it was through donations or messages of encouragement to cheer me on.

Your belief in me, meant the world to me. 🥹

Thanks again!! 🫶🏽❤️

Week 2 - Over Halfway There!

Hi everyone...

We’re officially at the halfway point of my 100km charity run for GOSH! 👏

It’s hard to believe I’ve already hit 60km, the journey so far has been both challenging and rewarding. I’ve made it through two weeks of running despite the cold weather and I’m feeling more motivated than ever!

This past week, the weather has definitely thrown some curveballs my way. The temperatures have been pretty chilly, which makes it a little harder to get out the door some days. But the good news is that I’ve learned to layer up and embrace the cold! It’s become part of the challenge, and honestly, there’s something invigorating about those crisp, fresh runs. Plus, nothing beats the feeling of being wrapped up in the warmth after finishing a chilly session! ❄️

I’m also happy to report that my pace is improving! At the start of the run, I wasn’t sure how my legs would hold up, but now I’m seeing my average pace per kilometre gradually decrease. It’s encouraging to see progress, and it’s motivating me to keep pushing further each week.

The best part of reaching 60km is realising I’m more than halfway to my goal. It’s a big milestone, and it’s making all the early mornings and cold runs totally worth it. I’ve been really enjoying the process, even when it gets tough, because I know it’s all for an amazing cause. GOSH does incredible work, and I’m so proud to be able to support them through this run.

Thank you so much to everyone who has donated and supported me so far 🩷 – your encouragement has kept me going on those days when it’s been hard to lace up my shoes.

I’ll keep you all posted as I keep moving toward that 100km finish line!

Thanks again for your support – let’s keep pushing forward! 💪

Week 1 Completed!

I am pleased to report I had an excellent first week overall, and managed to complete a total of 34km!

Had a great start on Saturday (1st) completing a 9km run along the Thames path between Greenwich and O2 with support from Joseph Angel and of course Saul.

I did a small run alone on Sunday (4km) and then 7.5km on Monday locally which left me feeling tired and a little low on Tuesday meaning I only managed 4km on this day.

I rested from running on Wednesday and Thursday and wasn't looking forward to today's run, but I was determined to pass the 30km mark which was my goal for week 1 so we (I dragged Saul with me) went to the coast and ran from Herne Bay to Whitable against strong winds and sleet... somehow I enjoyed it and had a renewed energy and managed to complete 10km! Wow.

So that was my first week... now bring on week 2!!!

Can I say a  massive thank you to everyone that has supported me with your kind words and donations. It has been overwhelming but really encouraging and needed especially on Tuesday when I was feeling tired and then today when I was running in the sleet and strong winds. 👍 Thank you xxx 🥰

I’m running 100km in February for GOSH Charity!

I’m challenging myself to run 100km this February to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity (GOSH Charity).

Childhood is special. It should be a time of joy, wonder, curiosity and fun. Of making friends, making mistakes, and growing into the adults we become. But it’s also fragile, and sometimes all too brief.

That’s why Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity raises funds to help give seriously ill children childhoods that are fuller, funner and longer. For the children from all over the UK who are treated by Great Ormond Street Hospital every day, for children with rare or complex illnesses everywhere, for this generation and all those to come. Because no childhood should be lost to serious illness.

And with every kilometre I run, and every pound raised, we’ll be helping to give seriously ill children the best chance and the best childhood possible.

Please help me to achieve my goal by giving whatever you can; no amount is too small to make a difference.
