Why I’m Swimming 8km for Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity
This March, I’ve decided to challenge myself to swim 8 kilometres in support of Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity.
This challenge is especially close to my heart because a few close friends of mine have had to rely on the care and support provided by Great Ormond Street Hospital. Seeing firsthand the difference they made during such difficult times showed me just how incredible the charity truly is. The care, compassion, and dedication they showed not only helped the children physically but also gave their families comfort, reassurance, and hope when they needed it most.
Because of the support they received, those children were able to have the best possible care and experience during such challenging moments. Knowing they were in safe hands made an enormous difference to everyone involved. Now, I want to give something back so other children and families can receive that same level of care, support, and reassurance. Every child deserves the chance to feel safe, supported, and looked after.
By swimming 8km over the course of March, I’m hoping to raise money to help fund vital equipment, family support services, and life-changing research. Every length I swim represents my commitment to helping Great Ormond Street Hospital continue their incredible work and support more children in need.
This challenge will push me both physically and mentally, but it’s nothing compared to what these children and their families go through every day. Knowing that this effort can help even one family feel more supported makes it completely worth it.
Any donation, no matter how small, will make a real difference. Your support will help Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity continue to provide exceptional care and help give seriously ill children the best possible chance at recovery and a brighter future.
Thank you so much for your support — it truly means everything.
I’m swimming 8km in March for GOSH Charity!
I’m challenging myself to swim 8km this March to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity (GOSH Charity).
Childhood is special. It should be a time of joy, wonder, curiosity and fun. Of making friends, making mistakes, and growing into the adults we become. But it’s also fragile, and sometimes all too brief.
That’s why Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity raises funds to help give seriously ill children childhoods that are fuller, funner and longer. For the children from all over the UK who are treated by Great Ormond Street Hospital every day, for children with rare or complex illnesses everywhere, for this generation and all those to come. Because no childhood should be lost to serious illness.
And with every kilometre I swim, and every pound raised, we’ll be helping to give seriously ill children the best chance and the best childhood possible.
Please help me to achieve my goal by giving whatever you can; no amount is too small to make a difference.
