Why am I doing this 8K Swim?

Hi everyone, thank you for joining me here.

My name is Emily. During the month of March 2024 I’m challenging myself to an 8K Swim to raise funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity, one that is very close to my heart at present.

8k, that’s around 320 lengths and I haven’t swam properly since my teenage swim club years where I used to compete locally. WOAH!  It’s a challenge I’m ready to fight through!

I am doing this to support my Superhero Nephew Freddie, who is fighting and Kicking cancers Butt! Freddie has had a gruelling 8 months + of treatment for cancer to get him better and we are still on his journey to better health.

If you can donate anything at all it would be going to an incredible cause and it would help make my Freddie Smile!
He is so deserving of health and happiness such a brave young man.

Freddie my warrior, this is for you lots of love

I'm swimming 8K in March for GOSH Charity

I’m challenging myself to swim 8 kilometres this March to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity (GOSH Charity).

Every day brings new challenges at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). Every day, around 750 seriously ill children and young people are seen at GOSH from all over the UK for life-changing treatment and care. Every day, doctors and nurses battle the most complex illnesses, and the brightest minds come together to achieve pioneering medical breakthroughs.

And with every metre I swim I’ll be helping GOSH Charity give seriously ill children the chance of a better future.

This extraordinary hospital has always depended on charitable support, so please help me to achieve my goal by giving whatever you can; no amount is too small to make a difference.
