Day 1 complete!
Day 1 completed and it feels exhilarating! I couldn't have done it without all of your love and support!I’m running 100 miles in May for GOSH Charity!
This May, I'm gearing up for a big adventure: running 100 miles to support Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). It's a special journey that's close to my heart for many reasons. Seventeen years ago, GOSH was there for me when I was diagnosed with lupus, a challenging health condition. They provided not only medical care but also warmth and support during a tough time in my life.
As I prepare for this challenge, I can't help but think about the future. My two-year-old son, who was born with a Bilateral cleft & palate, reminds me every day of the uncertainties that lie ahead. His journey, like mine, may have its ups and downs, and there's a chance we might need GOSH again someday.
That's why running these 100 miles means so much to me. It's my way of saying thank you to GOSH for the care they gave me in the past and also a way of preparing for whatever the future may hold for my family. Knowing that GOSH is there, ready to support us if we need them, gives me hope and strength as I take on this challenge.
But this journey isn't just about me. It's about all the children and families who rely on GOSH every day. Their stories inspire me to keep going, even when the miles feel long and my legs grow tired. With every step I take, I'm not only showing my gratitude but also helping to ensure that GOSH can continue to be there for families like mine in the years to come.
So, as I lace up my running shoes and hit the road, I do so with a heart full of gratitude and hope. Gratitude for the care I received in the past and hope for a future where GOSH will be there for my son and for countless other children who need it most. Together, let's run towards a brighter tomorrow, one step at a time.
I’m challenging myself to run 100 miles in May to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity (GOSH Charity).
Every day brings new challenges at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). Every day, around 750 seriously ill children and young people are seen at GOSH from all over the UK for life-changing treatment and care. Every day, doctors and nurses battle the most complex illnesses, and the brightest minds come together to achieve pioneering medical breakthroughs.
And with every mile I run, I’ll be helping GOSH Charity give seriously ill children the chance of a better future.
This extraordinary hospital has always depended on charitable support, so please help me to achieve my goal by giving whatever you can; no amount is too small to make a difference.
