50 Push-ups a Day in November 2026

I’m doing 50 Push-ups a Day in November for GOSH Charity!

There was a time where "do 50 push-ups a day" came as naturally to me as "eat breakfast" or "get dressed". Now, what with entering the "married" club, the "dad" club, and the "in your 30s with body parts randomly hurting at any given moment for no reason" club, that time is quite a distant memory, that I wouldn't mind bringing back!

I also know first-hand the feeling of seeing your child in hospital care, and the fear of not knowing what's happening to them, or why. At 5 years old, we rushed him into hospital for the first - of what would turn out to be many - blood test, and the initial diagnosis of ITP, a disorder where your immune system attacks your platelets.  After many weeks, months, and now years, we have a (mostly) happy and healthy 8-year-old, now diagnosed with ALPS, but on the right medication to keep it under control.

GOSH is one of only 2 places in Europe with the ability to test for ALPS.

That's why I’m challenging myself to 50 push-ups a day this November to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity (GOSH Charity).

Childhood is special. It should be a time of joy, wonder, curiosity and fun. Of making friends, making mistakes, and growing into the adults we become. But it’s also fragile, and sometimes all too brief.

That’s why Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity raises funds to help give seriously ill children childhoods that are fuller, funner and longer. For the children from all over the UK who are treated by Great Ormond Street Hospital every day, for children with rare or complex illnesses everywhere, for this generation and all those to come. Because no childhood should be lost to serious illness.

And with every push-up I do, and every pound raised, we’ll be helping to give seriously ill children the best chance and the best childhood possible.

Please help me to achieve my goal by giving whatever you can; no amount is too small to make a difference.
