Swim 8K in March 2024

My Activity Tracking

My target 8 kms

8km Done

I forgot to post on 20th March that I had finished my 8km swim.  My final distance  of 8135m was  due to swimming in a 25 yard pool in the Victorian Baths in Chester.  It makes the calculations a bit trickier than normal.

Another Early Morning Swim

Half way through the month and I have already swim 6km.

Early Morning Swim

I managed to get up and go to my first 5:45am morning swim with Chester Triathlon Club.  Almost halfway to 8km already.

First Day, First 1km

I went swimming this evening with Chester Triathlon Club in Ellesmere Port and have swam my first 1.825km.

Friday Night Swimming Resumes!

Thankfully the Chester Triathlon Club Swimming session is restarted again on a Friday evening.  Therefore I am still planning to do the same amount of swimming without needing to wake up at the crack of dawn.  Phew!

(I think I will still challenge myself to do one early morning swim as I may suprise myself and find that I actually enjoy an early start to the day in a warm swimming pool)

Plan

I have realised that I have stopped swimming over the last 6 months so I am doing this challenge to get back to swimming regularly with Chester Triathlon Club.  I am not a morning person so this will motivate me to go to the early morning swimming session on a Wednesday morning (05:45am eeks!!).  Wish me luck!

I'm swimming 8K in March for GOSH Charity

I’m challenging myself to swim 8 kilometres this March to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity (GOSH Charity).

Every day brings new challenges at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). Every day, around 750 seriously ill children and young people are seen at GOSH from all over the UK for life-changing treatment and care. Every day, doctors and nurses battle the most complex illnesses, and the brightest minds come together to achieve pioneering medical breakthroughs.

And with every metre I swim I’ll be helping GOSH Charity give seriously ill children the chance of a better future.

This extraordinary hospital has always depended on charitable support, so please help me to achieve my goal by giving whatever you can; no amount is too small to make a difference.
