Walk 150K in October 2024

My Activity Tracking

156
kms

My target 150 kms

I did it!

151km done on 28th October with a few days still left in October! Woohoo I will keep adding any more walks that I do, glad the pressure is off the target though as its half term
Really proud of myself for doing it though and will continue to get out in the park at least once a day xx

Getting there!

What a week, with looking after both kids it was difficult to do much walking, although I have managed to do afternoon  walks for Clive, its just not a long walk with May there as she loves playing with the autumn leaves! When Dan was working from home I was also able to walk during Mays nap time. Well my ankle got better in the end but then my knee has now gone 🙃  it has not stopped me though and I am on track to completing my target!x

Sore ankle

After a busy weekend of walking I woke up on Monday with a sore ankle.  I am not sure if I have slept on it funny or whether its from too much walking. It did start to improve by Monday PM so I walked to and from baby sensory and for another nap but today its much worse. I am also on my own with both kids this week and next,  going to rest my ankle today apart from doing Clives afternoon walk x

Busy couple of days

I have had a couple of busy days, lots of walking for Joseph's naps, either by myself or with the family. We have also been to have ID checks to secure our offer on a house in lofthouse, very exciting. Had to take a visit to the local area and walked round a very muddy farmers field and nearly got the pram stuck, crossing a stream 😅 x

Half way there

I'm now halfway there time wise but also managed to get half way there km's wise! May is now off nursery for 2 weeks so its going to be very difficult to get walks in but I will try my best!x

Tuesday

May is at nursery today so I knew I could fit in a few walks, went to set off and it was raining and I just couldn't face it. However it cleared up later so I made up for it by going on 3 walks for 3 of Joseph's naps! Clive came along too x

Great day

I did lots of walking today, 2 of Joseph's naps and as well as walking to and from baby sensory x

Sunday

A great day for walks today, started early with an 8am walk for Joseph's nap. We met with friends for Sunday lunch, Joseph had fallen asleep so I walked home from the restaurant in order to not wake him up! And then we had an afternoon walk x

Saturday

It was difficult to get any walking done today as we again had house viewings and planned to visit Dans mum.  We did a walk local to her and then another walk in the afternoon with May x

Friday

Managed to get two walks in today. First walk was to make ourselves scarce whilst someone came to view our house, exciting times! Second walk was round a disused golf course in lofthouse- one of the areas we are hoping to move to so wanted to check what the local dog walks were like xx

Thursdays

It is going to be difficult to get any walking done on Thursdays as I'm on my own with both children  also Dan works in the office and till late on Thursdays.  It was a lovely day with them both we went shopping and then to messy play.  I took them all and dog for a walk in the afternoon while Joseph napped in his pram, wasn't able to put in as much distance for the time we had. when  you have a toddler who wants to stop and look at every leaf and say hello to every dog, she also started walking backwards at one point- I hope this doesn't deduct mileage haha

More rain!

May is in nursery in the AM on Wednesdays so the only way I was going to get some walking was this morning, but it was raining, I borrowed Dans waterproof coat and trousers and bravely went out with Joseph!  The afternoon was sunny and dry but I wasn't able to go out until Dan finished work when we all walked Clive together x

Torrential rain

Had a lovely long walk this morning whilst Joseph slept in his pram around 5k whilst listening to off menu podcast, the sun was out and it was great.  Then in the afternoon I decided to go whilst Joseph wasn't sleepy so he could enjoy and brought the dog... and the heavens opened, I may as well have jumped in a canal I was so wet! Still made myself complete a lap of the park though and Joseph was snuggly warm and dry thanks to the water proof pram cover x

Monday

Had a really good day, one nap in the pram and then walked to and from baby sensory class, (which Joseph also napped in his pram there and back 😀). I felt very sweaty when I arrived at baby sensory though,  hopefully my fitness will improve over time!x

Rain

X2 walks today with baby Joseph, Dan and Clive.  May was staying at my mums house which meant even when it started raining 🌧 we continued where normally I would use May as an excuse to go home 😅.

App issues

I cant link my fitness app with this website, as using Samsung watch.  So I am having to manually input,  so easier to put the days total in.. today I'm really proud that I've done 5k in total, this was x3 of Joseph's  naps, and May, Clive and Dan joined me on 2 of them.  Its been a lovely sunny day aswell.  Let's hope I can keep this up x

T shirt arrived

Well I signed up to this back when my newborn was not settling in his cot and I thought to myself I am easily doing this amount of walking anyway! However fast forward a few weeks and baby will sleep in his cot just fine. However having recieved my t shirt from the charity I thought I am going to do this! As can only be beneficial for me and baby to get outside! You'll see me in my local park with pram from now on! **dusts off smart watch** xx

I’m walking 150K in October for GOSH Charity!

I’m challenging myself to walk 150 kilometres this October to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity (GOSH Charity).

Every day brings new challenges at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). Every day, around 750 seriously ill children and young people are seen at GOSH from all over the UK for life-changing treatment and care. Every day, doctors and nurses battle the most complex illnesses, and the brightest minds come together to achieve pioneering medical breakthroughs.

And with every kilometre I walk, I’ll be helping GOSH Charity give seriously ill children the chance of a better future.

This extraordinary hospital has always depended on charitable support, so please help me to achieve my goal by giving whatever you can; no amount is too small to make a difference.
