Swim Challenge Update: 3km Down!
I’m excited to share a quick update on my swimming challenge in support of Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity.
So far, I have completed 3km of my 8km swim challenge, and I’m really pleased to say that I’ve already reached my initial fundraising target! 🎉
A huge thank you to everyone who has sponsored me so far, your generosity and encouragement mean so much, and it’s all going towards supporting the incredible work done for seriously ill children and their families.
But now I have a new question… can we raise even more? 🤔
To keep the momentum going, I’m adding a little extra motivation to the challenge: For every extra £10 added to the fundraising total, I’ll increase my swim distance by another kilometre. That means the more we raise, the further I’ll swim.
So if you’d still like to support this amazing cause, there’s still time to get involved and push the challenge even further.
Thank you again for all your support so far, let’s see how far we can take this together! 💙
Just keep swimming…
In March, I will be swimming 8 kilometres for Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Eight. Kilometres.
For context, that’s 400 lengths of my gyms swimming pool. Or, as I like to think of it, 400 opportunities to reconsider my life choices which led me to this point.
Swimming is repetitive. It’s relentless. It’s just you and the water and the decision to keep turning at the wall instead of climbing out. Every length is small. But stack 400 of them together and suddenly you’ve done something big.
Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity supports seriously ill children and their families, funding life-saving treatments, pioneering research, and making hospital stays less terrifying for kids who are already dealing with more than most of us ever will. They do genuinely extraordinary work. I, on the other hand, will be attempting not to inhale half the pool.
So this March, I’ll be in the pool, counting lengths, questioning my sanity, and trying to maintain something that loosely resembles technique.
If you’d like to support a great cause, and motivate me to keep swimming when my arms feel like decorative accessories, I’d be hugely grateful.
I’m swimming 8km in March for GOSH Charity!
I’m challenging myself to swim 8km this March to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity (GOSH Charity).
Childhood is special. It should be a time of joy, wonder, curiosity and fun. Of making friends, making mistakes, and growing into the adults we become. But it’s also fragile, and sometimes all too brief.
That’s why Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity raises funds to help give seriously ill children childhoods that are fuller, funner and longer. For the children from all over the UK who are treated by Great Ormond Street Hospital every day, for children with rare or complex illnesses everywhere, for this generation and all those to come. Because no childhood should be lost to serious illness.
And with every kilometre I swim, and every pound raised, we’ll be helping to give seriously ill children the best chance and the best childhood possible.
Please help me to achieve my goal by giving whatever you can; no amount is too small to make a difference.
