Final swim
Last 250m done with some lovely company today. Thats 8km done. Thank you to all my sponsors, your money will make a difference to the lives of families helped by GOSH.Penultimate swim
Completed the penultimate swim today 1km done bringing my total to 7.75 km. 250 m to be done tomorrow with some company. There is still time to sponsor if you are able.Swim 5
A family fun swim in the pool today so I was able to get a few lengths in while Aaron retrieved sinkers from the bottom of the pool with his new goggles. Thank you to my husband and children supporting me to do this.Swim 6
Back in the pool again Wednesday eve and another 1.5 km completed. Sadly the swimming hat did not last the distance, after making a small hole in it last time it split in two trying to put it on tonight. I'm grateful for people sponsoring me along this journey because I know what good work that money is going towards. My niece was up in London for more scans this week. Thank you to all who have supported this amazing cause.Swim 4
A spontaneous half Km today while at the pool with friends. It was such a blessing to see how much fun the kids had in the pool and is a reminder of what some kids would miss out on without the help and support from GOSH. It really does change the opportunities and the quality of life for so many families. If that's something you feel able to support, just a small amount adds up to make a big difference. Thank you.Swim 3
Another day in the pool and another 1.5 km completed, halfway to the 8km target. It was lovely to see some familiar faces in the pool today. If you are able to sponsor me for this fantastic cause, no amount is too small to make a difference to the life of children and their families supported by the great work that GOSH do.Swim 2
Back in the pool today and managed an extra 1.5km towards the goal. I was pleased to be able to share my reason for swimming today and raise awareness for such a fantastic cause.Day 1
So, the challenge kicked off today and the first 1KM is done. It was a family affair with the kids joining me in the pool and they were keen to take part. Thank you to those who have sponsored me already. Your money really is going to such a fantastic cause. There is still time to sponsor if you are able.I’m swimming 8km in March for GOSH Charity!
I’m challenging myself to swim 8km this March to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity (GOSH Charity).
My niece Lottie was born in Septemeber with a condition which meant she has had brain surgery at GOSH twice already and I want to support the charity to be there for her and other children that need special help and treatment.
Childhood is special. It should be a time of joy, wonder, curiosity and fun. Of making friends, making mistakes, and growing into the adults we become. But it’s also fragile, and sometimes all too brief.
That’s why Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity raises funds to help give seriously ill children childhoods that are fuller, funner and longer. For the children from all over the UK who are treated by Great Ormond Street Hospital every day, for children with rare or complex illnesses everywhere, for this generation and all those to come. Because no childhood should be lost to serious illness.
And with every kilometre I swim, and every pound raised, we’ll be helping to give seriously ill children the best chance and the best childhood possible.
Please help me to achieve my goal by giving whatever you can; no amount is too small to make a difference.
