My target 8 kms

10km for the month!

Got 32 lengths done this evening to make 10km for the month.

I think I can probably get to 12km, with a swim on 2 or 3 swims in the last week of the month planned.

What challenge shall I set myself next!?

400/400

New goal 480 lengths

All done - now .. stretch goal!

1.5km tonight means I'm up to 9.2km for the .month! Stretch goal.... 10km? 12km?

368/320 lengths

New target 400 lengths....

Finishing line in sight

46 lengths down today, leaving me just 12 lengths to go.
I can't believe I've been able to do this much!

308/320 lengths

Tough going today

Slogged out 800m, tough going with a busy pool and a slightly achy body from the gym yesterday.

Leaving me with just under 1500m to go - hoping to complete on Monday, but will possibly roll over to a second swim on Tuesday.

262/320

Another 50 lengths down

Less than 100 to go!

230/320

Over half way!

30 lengths this morning just for a quick swim before taking the kids out.

180/320 lengths

60 lengths evening swim

Went for a swim this evening with a friend and we encouraged each other along to hit some nice distances! 1500m down and feeling good. I've now done more distance in October than I did in September and it's only 10th!

150/320 lengths

50 lengths - my longest swim yet!

1.25km today after a ropey night's sleep with the kiddos

90/320 lengths

1km down

I swam 40 lengths at my local pool yesterday kicking off this challenge with a bang.

I've been swimming to improve my fitness for cricket the last few weeks so jumped at the chance of this challenge. But, it's more than double what I swam in the last month so it'll certainly be a test!

40 /320 lengths complete

I’m swimming 8km in October for GOSH Charity!

I’m challenging myself to swim 8km this October to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity (GOSH Charity).

Childhood is special. It should be a time of joy, wonder, curiosity and fun. Of making friends, making mistakes, and growing into the adults we become. But it’s also fragile, and sometimes all too brief.

That’s why Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity raises funds to help give seriously ill children childhoods that are fuller, funner and longer. For the children from all over the UK who are treated by Great Ormond Street Hospital every day, for children with rare or complex illnesses everywhere, for this generation and all those to come. Because no childhood should be lost to serious illness.

And with every kilometre I swim, and every pound raised, we’ll be helping to give seriously ill children the best chance and the best childhood possible.

Please help me to achieve my goal by giving whatever you can; no amount is too small to make a difference.
