My inspiration

Hi,
Thank you to everyone for taking the time to follow my challenge of walking 150k steps for great Ormond street!

My inspiration is and always will be my beautiful stepdaughter Lexie, who at the young age of 14 got diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy and suffered a very long battle with her health and life. After suffering multiple cardiac arrests, a year of heart failure, long hospital stays, a sickening amount of medication and a heart transplant later, there is no better time to raise awareness and money for GOSH! This is the first step to building my confidence in the hope of doing a marathon next!
If Lexie can get through all that she has been through - I can do this small thing for all the poorly children in hospital. The hospital is simply amazing at supporting the families and most of all the children suffering whilst in hospital. From psychological support to simply getting to know the children and making their lives a little easier during their time in hospital.

I must finish with the great news that Lexie is recovering extremely well and can soon start living a normal life, thanks to the amazing transplant team, and doners family! We as a family could never put into words how grateful we are to still have Lexie!

I’m walking 150K in October for GOSH Charity!

I’m challenging myself to walk 150 kilometres this October to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity (GOSH Charity).

Every day brings new challenges at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). Every day, around 750 seriously ill children and young people are seen at GOSH from all over the UK for life-changing treatment and care. Every day, doctors and nurses battle the most complex illnesses, and the brightest minds come together to achieve pioneering medical breakthroughs.

And with every kilometre I walk, I’ll be helping GOSH Charity give seriously ill children the chance of a better future.

This extraordinary hospital has always depended on charitable support, so please help me to achieve my goal by giving whatever you can; no amount is too small to make a difference.
