Exhausting training
Some evenings, swimming training feels especially exhausting. After a full day at school and hours of studying for my mid-year exams, the last thing my body wants is another challenge. My mind is tired, my muscles feel heavy, and the pool suddenly seems twice as long. But once I dive in, everything changes. Each lap reminds me why I started. The discipline, resilience, and progress I build in those evening sessions are worth the fatigue. It’s not easy—but achieving my goals in the water makes every long day meaningful.
A Huge Thank You — And an Exciting Update!
I just wanted to take a moment to say the biggest thank you to everyone who has supported me so far. Your kindness, encouragement, and donations have meant more than I can put into words.
Thanks to you, I’ve hit my £300 target in just three days — something I honestly never expected to happen so quickly. I’m incredibly grateful for every single person who shared, donated, or simply sent a message cheering me on.
But… I’m not stopping here! 🏊♀️💪
Because the response has been so amazing, I’ve decided to keep pushing myself and raise my target to £500.
If you’re able to, please keep supporting and sharing my page — it truly makes a difference and motivates me to keep going.
Thank you again for being part of this journey with me. Let’s see how far we can take this together! 💙✨
What Swimming Means to Me as a Teenager

Swimming isn’t just a sport for me—it’s my escape, my confidence-builder, and my calm in the middle of teenage chaos. When life gets noisy with school, friendships, and expectations, the water becomes the one place where everything slows down. Underwater, I can breathe, reset, and just be myself.
Every lap teaches me something: discipline, patience, focus. Beating a personal best—no matter how small—makes me feel stronger and more capable. It reminds me that I’m growing, both in and out of the pool.
Swimming also gives me a sense of belonging. I’ve made friends who support me, challenge me, and share the same love for the water. And beyond that, it connects me to myself—my body, my mind, my emotions.
In the end, swimming gives me:
- Peace
- Confidence
- Strength
- A break from stress
- Real happiness
It’s more than something I do—it’s part of who I’m becoming.
Struggling to wake up
Some mornings at 6:30am, my alarm goes off, and I face the same battle — the struggle to wake up. The bed feels warmer, the room feels colder, and my body always tries to convince me that one more hour of sleep would not hurt. Especially when it is still dark outside, the idea of going swimming feels like the hardest decision of the day.
But then I remind myself why I am doing this.
My goal is to swim 100km in March. It is not a small challenge, and it requires consistency, effort, and mental strength. Some mornings I feel motivated, but many mornings I simply rely on discipline. I get up, put on my swim gear, and head to the pool — even when I do not feel like it.
Swimming has taught me more than just physical endurance. It has taught me discipline and devotion. It has shown me that goals are not achieved by motivation alone, but by commitment. Every length I swim brings me closer to my 100km target. Every early morning is proof that I am stronger than my excuses.
The struggle to wake up is real. But so is the reward. And in the end, it is always worth the effort.
I’m swimming 100km in March for GOSH Charity!
I’m challenging myself to swim 100km this March to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity (GOSH Charity).
Childhood is special. It should be a time of joy, wonder, curiosity and fun. Of making friends, making mistakes, and growing into the adults we become. But it’s also fragile, and sometimes all too brief.
That’s why Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity raises funds to help give seriously ill children childhoods that are fuller, funner and longer. For the children from all over the UK who are treated by Great Ormond Street Hospital every day, for children with rare or complex illnesses everywhere, for this generation and all those to come. Because no childhood should be lost to serious illness.
And with every kilometre I swim, and every pound raised, we’ll be helping to give seriously ill children the best chance and the best childhood possible.
Please help me to achieve my goal by giving whatever you can; no amount is too small to make a difference.
