Week so far!!!!

Couple of low days due to being in hospital with my youngest. Will be stepping it up this week!! (No pun intended) 😝👍👌

Way home

Still too close for me 😂 home via the New Forest.

Home!!!!

Pit stop to see my sister and nieces on the way home.
Unknown how long Sophie will still have the NG tube at this point. She was very excited to see her cousins. I did try and walk around the hospital and the little room we were in 🤣

Bribing with chocolate

Bribing Sophie with chocolate to get her protein in her!!

Step back

My steps will be low the next few days. Will be ready to make up for it after. Sophie is currently in Southampton hospital due to complications with her condition and having to use an NG tube. For how long who knows.

And it begins!!! 👌

And it begins!!! 👌

I’m walking 250km in October for GOSH Charity!

I’m challenging myself to walk 250 kilometres this October to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity (GOSH Charity).

This is personal to me due to complications with both of my children.

Chloe wasn’t breathing when she was born 4 weeks early and spent just under a month in intensive care. If I didn’t go to hospital when I did, the doctors said she wouldn’t be here today.

Sophie was born with a really rare condition called Glutaric Aciduria type 1. It is a metabolic disorder. Without treatment, there can be severe and  life threatening complications. Sophie is on medication for life with a strict low protein diet. Regularly hospital visits. Even a sickness bug can mean a few days in hospital with an NG tube down her nose.

Any hospital that helps children is a winner to me.

Every day brings new challenges at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). Every day, around 750 seriously ill children and young people are seen at GOSH from all over the UK for life-changing treatment and care. Every day, doctors and nurses battle the most complex illnesses, and the brightest minds come together to achieve pioneering medical breakthroughs.

And with every kilometre I walk, I’ll be helping GOSH Charity give seriously ill children the chance of a better future.

This extraordinary hospital has always depended on charitable support, so please help me to achieve my goal by giving whatever you can; no amount is too small to make a difference.
