Staying afloat...

I'm nudging towards the halfway point of my 8K swim, and pleased to report, I have raised nearly £300 for GOSH and I am still very much afloat.

Thank you for your generosity, and to my lovely pool fellows, who have made it a lot of fun - swimmers are excellent people.

Please consider donating to this great cause - keep me afloat!

Caffeine and goggles

Fuelled by caffeine and my fancy new googles, I did my first 0.67km this morning!

Thanks to your amazing generosity, I have exceeded my fundraising target, and the combined total so far for all the swimmers taking part is just over £40K - impressive stuff.

It's not too late to still donate, or to get your togs on and join in, the pool is calling you...

In the Bahamas...

Just in the garden (not the Bahamas, but looks a bit like it), back from a solid 20 practice laps in my local pool, the boiler had broken down, so it was a bit chilly in there today.

So glad it's almost spring!

Got the t-shirt, thank you GOSH team, I'm feeling mildly confident I can do this...

I’m swimming 8km in March for GOSH Charity!

After successfully swimming the Channel the year before last (not all at once), I am getting back in the water and challenging myself to swim 8km during March to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity (GOSH Charity).

I will be swimming in memory of my Mum, who was petrified of water and consequently a great lover of lifeboats. She also used to crochet the cutest jellyfish for premature babies in NICU, so I think she would have approved of this challenge.

Last time I took on a challenge, her wise words of encouragement were 'Just try not to drown' - I shall remember this, thanks Mum!

GOSH is an amazing charity, hospital is a miserable place for anyone, but must be awful for a kid. GOSH tries to make the experience just a little bit better.

Please help me to achieve my goal by giving whatever you can; no amount is too small to make a difference.
