Happy 6th Birthday to my One True Inspiration <3

Day 1

For those of you who don't know, I am not a strong or experienced swimmer at all. A few months ago I took around 4 swimming lessons to get my confidence back and revamp my front crawl. I still currently cannot tread water, breast stroke or do any other stroke! But I hope to dabble in these over my March 5k journey.

Today I swam 400m out of my 5000m! 16 lengths in total. I genuinely thought I couldn't do it by time I hit length 10 as my quads and hamstrings were burning and giving up! But with some resting & stretching in between I managed to do 2 more... By this point the last 4 seemed doable in comparison and I "Just kept swimming!"

Once I had finished that last length I could have cried! My body was trembling, legs felt quite numb but I overcame the one skill in life I have always feared as an adult! (As a child I was fearless in water, but as an adult I'm that one grown up in the rubber ring lol!)

Thanks again for all of your continued support! Can't believe I hit my initial fund goal in practically 48 hours; and my second goal in less than week before I'd even started swimming!

I’m swimming 5K in March for GOSH Charity! 

I’m challenging myself to swim 5 kilometres this March to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity (GOSH Charity).

As an auntie to my beautiful niece with additional needs, a SEND teacher and having been a sick baby myself in my early years, supporting vulnerable children with specific health needs means a lot to me. GOSH have supported many of the children I care deeply about and have supported my little niece over the years with the utmost care.

Every day around 600 children and young people from across the UK arrive for life-changing treatments at GOSH. Every day, doctors and nurses battle the most complex illnesses, and the brightest minds come together to achieve pioneering medical breakthroughs.

And with every metre I swim I’ll be helping GOSH Charity give seriously ill children the chance of a better future.

This extraordinary hospital has always depended on charitable support, so please help me to achieve my goal by giving whatever you can; no amount is too small to make a difference.
