DOING THE WALKIE TALKIE FOR MY DAUGHTER & FOR ALL THE CHILDREN AT GOSH

I have wanted to do this for a couple of years now but always end up not signing up. So I thought now or never and so I thought just take that leap and do it I’m well excited. I have done a few challenges for GOSH my way of giving back and thanking Great Ormond Street for all the help they have given over the last few years for our second child.
My daughter was having loads of seizures they didn’t know what it was. They thought it could be myoclonic, infantile spasms or absence seizures she has had multiple EEG’s, 2 MRI a PET scan list goes on she has had different meds and now she has been diagnosed with focal seizures FCD. My daughter has a slight scarring on her left side of her brain which affects her right side when she has a seizure. She was 14months old when she started having seizures and wasn’t medicated until 10months afterwards which in the meantime she was having so many appointments. She was in and out of hospital 3/4 times a week then the seizures started to slow down once she was medicated but then after some time they started becoming more frequently so her medication was changed which now she is on 2 sets of medication morning and evening dosage and if seizure is longer than 5mins we have to give rescue meds which we have to carry everywhere. She was having so many tests done to see if she was eligible for brain surgery but she isn’t eligible at this point in life which is a great relief. She is still under the neurology department who are fantastic. She is now a typical 5y who just gets on with it she says her seizures are her superpowers so for my daughter and for all the children at GOSH I will take this challenge on.
Thank you for reading 📖
I know it’s December right on top of Christmas and what with everything going up but if you could just spare a little for this fantastic cause GOSH is such a great hospital and not in a million years would we ever thought we be apart of this hospital and we have and are. If you could sponsor me I would be forever grateful 🥲

I’m climbing the Walkie Talkie Tower to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity!

I'll be climbing up London's iconic building on Saturday 8 March 2025, up 36 floors and 896 steps, to raise money to help give seriously ill children childhoods that are fuller, funner and longer.

Please sponsor me and help to fund groundbreaking research, cutting-edge medical equipment, the rebuilding and refurbishment of child-centred facilities, and essential support services for children and their families.
