Unfortunately I’ve had to have a little bit of time out of the pool, work has been hectic (work in care & do 24 hour shifts) & my hearing aid adjustment has taken a little long than anticipated causing pain to my right ear.Hearing Aids & Swimming
This week unfortunately I have not been able to enter the pool. However I did do a few short walks to keep the momentum going.Swim 5 - 1000m
Swim 5 was a little disappointing.Swim 4 - 2025m
Today’s swim was an overall success.Swim 3 - 2350m
Swim 3 was a success!Swim 2 - 1275m
A short morning swim was completed this morning. It was done alongside the women enjoying there aqua aerobics session. This was great as the lane was quiet and the music coming from there class gave me additional motivation.Swim 1 - 2,575m
Participated in the adult only late night swimming at my local pool. It’s brilliant the lights are dimmed and is not only an excellent experience but a sensory appropriate one for that time in the evening.I’m swimming 8km in March for GOSH Charity!
I’m challenging myself to swim 8km this March to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity (GOSH Charity).
Childhood is special. It should be a time of joy, wonder, curiosity and fun. Of making friends, making mistakes, and growing into the adults we become. But it’s also fragile, and sometimes all too brief.
That’s why Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity raises funds to help give seriously ill children childhoods that are fuller, funner and longer. For the children from all over the UK who are treated by Great Ormond Street Hospital every day, for children with rare or complex illnesses everywhere, for this generation and all those to come. Because no childhood should be lost to serious illness.
And with every kilometre I swim, and every pound raised, we’ll be helping to give seriously ill children the best chance and the best childhood possible.
Please help me to achieve my goal by giving whatever you can; no amount is too small to make a difference.

Well, well, well… you’ve finally found a way to combine early-onset frostbite, extreme chafing, and the noble art of flailing about like a confused walrus—all in the name of charity. Bravo! Your decision to embark on this epic swim for diabetes is, quite frankly, both admirable and borderline insane. Most people support medical causes with a tasteful bake sale or a sponsored silence. But not you. No, you’ve chosen the “throw myself into freezing water repeatedly until my limbs forget how to limb” approach. Revolutionary. In honour of your soggy crusade, I am donating a sum—not because I doubt your determination, but because I genuinely question your sanity, and feel some contribution is owed for what must be the most heroic act of aquatic absurdity since someone tried to bathe a cat. May your cause be successful, your Speedos remain structurally sound, and your dignity—well, let’s not aim too high.
