I did it!

Thank you so much to everyone who contributed to this incredible cause and motivated me to complete the challenge! I did it—an 8km swim in March! 🌊
My ACL and MCL recovery is progressing well—I’m finally brace-free, though there’s still some discomfort at night. Swimming has been a game-changer for healing and keeping my muscles strong.
I’m already excited to keep going! Maybe next time, I’ll aim for 8km in a single swim (and a higher fundraising target to match 😉).
A huge thanks again for helping me smash this goal. GOSH is such a worthy cause, and I’m so proud of what we’ve achieved together! 🎉

Back in the pool

After a full week in bed with Norovirus, I am back with a nice 1km done this morning. A few more meters to go!

Quick update

Hello everyone! I usually write my blog posts after a nice swim, when I feel revitalised and in good shape. Well, today I am writing from my bed as I have a bad virus and have had a high fever for 3 days now.... Hopefully it will go away soon. I will keep you updated!

Slower but stronger

Easy getting into the pool today after drinks at Barts yesterday?
NOPE

Did this challenge kept me going?
YES

50 lanes only today (after the 70 lanes done yesterday) of which 20 legs only.

Great exercise for my knee which feels stronger day after day!

Stop counting

They once told me that when you break the 500m turning point you could then swim forever….
Well today I just felt like that.

I jumped in the pool with no will what so ever. I just wanted to go out with Corrado and have a very good drink as I had amazing work news…. But instead here I was in the pool….

And lane after lane, my breath was better, my legs were better and my knee was better….
I have stopped counting at 50 lanes in just over 25 min but I went on for a little bit longer and just stopped because indeed I am going out for my well deserved date night!

And tomorrow at 9am anyway I will be again in the pool!

Happy Friday night and have a wonderful weekend!

Keep flowing!!!

It’s awesome! As I keep swimming, your donations keep coming! Thank you so much to all sponsors so far! Every of meter count, and every penny goes to GOH!

Doubling down

Hi all! Less than a week into my challenge, I have managed to double the number of lanes I am able to do from 10 to 26! The right leg and knee are still much weaker but I feel them more balanced, and my pace has surely improved! Your donations keep me on my toes, and I don’t want to disappoint you!

Increased Fundraising target!

My friends are awesome! In less than 24H I reached my initial fundraising goal of £500 so now I am challenging to get to £800!

Thanks for your support!!!!

Update

Wow! Incredible! You are all amazing! In less than 12H I am almost at my fundraising goal! That surely is a great push for me to get thru this challenge.

A challenging challenge for me ahead!

This past week, I injured my knee’s ACL and MCL, which means I’m unable to participate in sports activities for the next six weeks. Since sports and walking have become an essential part of my daily routine, helping me stay focused and grounded, I’ve been feeling frustrated and upset about this setback.
That’s when I discovered this swimming challenge! While I do swim, I can’t say it has ever been one of my favorite sports—I’ve always found it a bit boring and quite isolating. So, this will truly be a challenging challenge for me. However, I see it as an opportunity to learn resilience: to never give up, even when life slows you down, and to keep training for both mental and physical health.
I’d love your support! Your encouragement will help me stay motivated as I take on this challenge for a truly wonderful cause. Thank you!

I’m swimming 8km in March for GOSH Charity!

I’m challenging myself to swim 8km this March to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity (GOSH Charity).

Childhood is special. It should be a time of joy, wonder, curiosity and fun. Of making friends, making mistakes, and growing into the adults we become. But it’s also fragile, and sometimes all too brief.

That’s why Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity raises funds to help give seriously ill children childhoods that are fuller, funner and longer. For the children from all over the UK who are treated by Great Ormond Street Hospital every day, for children with rare or complex illnesses everywhere, for this generation and all those to come. Because no childhood should be lost to serious illness.

And with every kilometre I swim, and every pound raised, we’ll be helping to give seriously ill children the best chance and the best childhood possible.

Please help me to achieve my goal by giving whatever you can; no amount is too small to make a difference.
