Swim complete!
Dear all,
I’m very happy (and relieved!) to share that the swim is now complete after 3.5 hours in the pool on Saturday! I’ve attached some photos for anyone interested in what this looked like on the day.
Thank you all - so much - for your incredible support, encouragement, and generosity throughout. To me, this felt like something we achieved together, and I’m so proud of what we’ve raised and the difference it will go on to make.
Spending that long in the water became meditative and some of the most memorable bits for me were:
Swimming at London Fields Lido, 50 metres long, surrounded by cool, fresh air on a bright day
Looking up and seeing the sky on my breaths
Letting thoughts drift (including the realisation that my arms had turned to jelly well before halfway)
Feeling bursts of energy on reaching the 100-length mark - and again in those last couple of lengths
And finally, taking in the small celebrations afterwards!

I’m swimming 8km in October for GOSH Charity!
I’m challenging myself to swim 8km this October to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity (GOSH Charity).
Childhood is special. It should be a time of joy, wonder, curiosity and fun. Of making friends, making mistakes, and growing into the adults we become.
GOSH supports children from around the UK and internationally with rare and complex conditions. That’s why Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity raises funds to help give children childhoods that are more full, fun and long.
Please help me to achieve my goal to support the Charity through this swim; no amount is too small to make a difference.
