I'm swimming 8K in March for GOSH Charity
I’m challenging myself to Swim 8KM in March to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity (GOSH Charity).

What motivates me:
I recently underwent a lumbar discectomy surgery after suffering from prolonged lower back pain. My body is still recovering from the aches caused by stiff muscles near the surgical cut and weak spinal strength from the mandatory four-week post-surgery bed rest.
Swimming plays a significant role in my rehabilitation journey and has been one of my favorite sports since childhood. On my way home after a Sunday swim, I saw the Swim 8K challenge pop up on my phone. Despite my slow recovery, I decided to take on this challenge.
I’ve faced both physical and mental challenges from illness—feeling trapped in the hospital, confined to a bed, and limited by my own body.
Two years ago, I lost a loved one who bravely fought against a terrible illness. While there’s little I can do to help seriously ill children and young people directly, I’m determined to make a difference through this challenge.
I feel limited by my physical condition, often reminded of my constraints by pain and soreness. Participating in activities requiring long walks or carrying heavy items is difficult for me. However, I can push myself to swim 8KM in March. While I’m unsure if I’ll complete it, I am committed to overcoming my fears and breaking through my perceived limitations.
Please feel free to track my progress in March. Your support, whether by signing up for the challenge, donating any amount, or cheering me on, would mean the world to me.
