I’m climbing the Walkie Talkie Tower to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity!
I want to take on this challenge and fundraise for GOSH.
So a quick summary of the pictures and why I am raising money for GOSH is that when I was born I was 6 wks premature with several complications and rushed to GOSH.
I had Trache-oesophageal Fistula (known as TOF), Hiatus Hernia, Inguinal Hernia (bi-lateral) and Tracheomalacia. I had 4 separate operations to fix these issues and was in an incubator for my first 3 months and longer. Ignoring all those long winded names I basically could not take in food as the food pipe and wind pipe were not fully formed and connected in the right place as well as the other issues.
Several years later when I was 10 I was injured in the stomach and it was later diagnosed that something happened where I was operated on (at 13) and once again they saved my life.
All in all they saved my life on more than one occasion and without them and my parents determination I would definitely not have been fortunate to be as healthy as I am and taking on challenges including this one.
I'll be climbing up London's iconic building on Saturday 16 March 2024, up 36 floors and 896 steps, to raise money to help seriously ill children at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Please sponsor me and help fund groundbreaking research, advanced equipment, children and family support services and the rebuilding and refurbishment of wards and medical facilities within the hospital.

TrainingThursday 25th Jan Currently running up and jogging down the flights of stairs at work for training...alongside running.
I have done it twice so far for 4 sets of 11 flights (44) and hope to try and do this once a week now to ensure my calves and body is used to it. Currently my calves are sore for several days after each session. Share
