Giving back.

Hi everyone!

So here I am, little old me running 100k in February in aid of Great Ormand Street Hospital.

This has all come quite out of the blue, and originally, my only plan was to find an exercise to enjoy that would allow me to cope better with my mental health. Running has really allowed me to clear my mind, to find peace, but most importantly, to breathe and be in the moment.

First of all, I would like to point out that I am in no way a runner! However recently I've found myself really enjoying it a lot and so therefore I thought why not give it a go, whilst raising some money for an amazing cause!✨️🏆

I then came across Great Ormand Street Hospital on an advert to say that there was an opportunity to raise some money for them in February, and I thought, "Why not, I love a challenge!" However, me being the geek that I am decided that if I am going to do this, then I want to understand what they stand for and what they do.

WELL, after reading up on the history of the hospital I was absolutely blown away! From the start, the hospital was driven by the passion of treating and, most importantly, saving children's lives. From being the first heart and lung unit in the UK to discovering the first genetic cause of life-threatening immune diseases... honestly, the medical breakthroughs and history of both the hospital and charity combined are just amazing!

To me, children are the future, and so I do think that we should nurture the children of today in order to create a better tomorrow.

The money raised will go towards creating new patient centred spaces, which include new beds, theatres, wards, and medical equipment. They even support families so that they are able to stay in accommodation close to their child whilst they receive the care they need, including expenses and funding meals for breast-feeding mothers.

I would be really grateful for any donations (big or small), and thank you all for your kindness in advance.

Much love and thanks, Anne-Marie x

I’m running 100K in February for GOSH Charity!

I’m challenging myself to run 100 kilometres this February to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity (GOSH Charity).

Every day brings new challenges at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). Every day, around 750 seriously ill children and young people are seen at GOSH from all over the UK for life-changing treatment and care. Every day, doctors and nurses battle the most complex illnesses, and the brightest minds come together to achieve pioneering medical breakthroughs.

And with every kilometre I run, I’ll be helping GOSH Charity give seriously ill children the chance of a better future.

This extraordinary hospital has always depended on charitable support, so please help me to achieve my goal by giving whatever you can; no amount is too small to make a difference.
