That's a wrap!
That's the 100 done! Much hotter today so lots of plasters on the feet to stop any rubbing and blisters. Headed straight to the gym after to stretch out the aching limbs. Best wishes to everyone taking part, it's an amazing cause!71 miles completed
Halfway!!!
Got to halfway far earlier than expected! Ran back to back days hence day off yesterday. Back out tomorrow and a lot more confident about my calf muscle. Will push it a bit harder and see how it goes.Day 3
Today I added another 10.5 miles to bring the total to 20.7 miles. Had to lay off for a few weeks before this so amazed how well the body is standing up!Post Day 1
Having not run for over 3 weeks due to a calf pull I know I would be aching a bit today. I think it was a good call to put in a longer run yesterday and take today as a rest day. Will be back on the road tomorrow morning and see how it goes. My thinking is to run 10 miles every other day and keep going!Day 1
Started the month with a 10.2M run (yes that .2 is important...) so just 89.8 miles to go! Gentle pace as only just recovered from a calf pull but all went well and looking forward to the next run day after tomorrowLess than a week to go!
Less than a week to go before start to make a dent in those 100 miles! Haven't run for past few weeks due to a pulled calf but been in the gym doing a lot of aerobic work.Almost there...
Thank you all so much for all the support already received, it really means a lot! 100 miles in a month is going to require a bit of discipline next month but I am up for the challenge. I managed to pull my calf muscle playing squash last week so working hard on getting fit for 1st May, including a lot of leg strengthening!I’m running 100 miles in May for GOSH Charity!
I’m challenging myself to run 100 miles in May to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity (GOSH Charity).
Every day brings new challenges at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). Every day, around 750 seriously ill children and young people are seen at GOSH from all over the UK for life-changing treatment and care. Every day, doctors and nurses battle the most complex illnesses, and the brightest minds come together to achieve pioneering medical breakthroughs.
And with every mile I run, I’ll be helping GOSH Charity give seriously ill children the chance of a better future.
This extraordinary hospital has always depended on charitable support, so please help me to achieve my goal by giving whatever you can; no amount is too small to make a difference.
