Nearing The End

Good morrow, everyone! Bobby here, with another update.
Well, we're nearing the end of this journey. And, this gives me some time in this post to reflect on what's happened, over the month of February. So, let's talk.

Over this month, it has been 'many a case' of ups and downs. I've done four half-marathons in this event so far, but I've also missed out on some vital walks, due to extremely unforgiving weather at the beginning of the month. I've done high amounts of mileage at the craziest of times, but have missed out on some crucial days, which could have been used to greater effect (once again, due to bad weather).

However, as I've gotten older in this event, I've realised that even I, an avid walk-a-holic, need my rest days, especially after walking some half-marathons. It turns out, despite only being 29 years of age, my legs are starting to feel old.
That said, what I can do I will do. And that is a promise I will maintain.

Aside from feeling the aches and pains, it's been a great ride, nonetheless. And, with all of your motivation and donations it has been extremely worth it, as it always is/has been. And so I owe it to you all, for helping me get where I need to be. "Because we do this! We get it done!"

And so, I shall leave these last few days up for grabs and just let you know that the page is open for donations, to this wonderful, noble cause. And, if you'd like to donate and help me out, I'd be much obliged - just follow the instructions on the page itself. And if you'd like to spread the news, for one final time, then feel free to share the page with anyone and everyone you meet - the more traction and audience retention, the better the outcome.

Otherwise, let's take it on for a few more days. And, then, I can finally rest.

An Overdue Update

Good afternoon, everyone! It's Bobby here. And welcome back to another article update, this one much long overdue.

And, so, we've reached £500+ on the challenge. And, once again, your unwavering commitment and generosity proves an inspiration. To which I owe you all my sincerest gratitude.
I guess a question now is, do I update the fundraising target again? I'll need some to think about that one.

While I'm thinking about it, I'm going to say my usual blurb - If you'd like to donate and support this noble cause, feel free to follow the instructions on the right hand side of the page (if you're on a browser) or at the top of the screen (if you're on a mobile or tablet device). Feel free, as well, to share the page far and wide, and spread the news.

With that in mind, there's only just over a week to go. And I'll hope to have one or two more updates towards the end. So, like always, let's give it one more's worth, so to speak.

1 Week Down & 3 To Go

Good evening, everyone! Bobby here, once more, presenting another update for you all. How are you all doing? I hope you're all keeping well?
Well I'm a week in and a lot has happened. Comparably, a lot hasn't happened either. I'm going to explain that first.

Unfortunately, due to work commitments and terrible weather constraining my ideal distance, I am a fair bit behind, at the moment. I've missed out on some crucial days and some days even have had to be cut short, due to such.
I'm hoping, during the 2nd week, things will start to look up for me in both aspects.
So, that's the bad news I've had.

The good news is, on Thursday, we managed to reach the target of £400. And so, I've decided to update it once more, this time to £500. The highest total I've done for this is not too far off that target... could there be a record on the cards, waiting to happen? I suppose only time will tell.

On that same topic, I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone, who has supported me so far on this journey. I know it's only been a week, and a really difficult one at that, but I do appreciate every single one of you and all of your support.

Moreover, if you'd like to donate and support this amazing cause, feel free to follow the instructions, either on the right hand side of the page (if you're on a browser) or at the top (if you're on a mobile device).

There's still plenty more to come, in the meantime, and if you know where I am on social media then you can follow along for all of the latest updates, as they happen.
Thanks for reading, and I hope you have a good weekend!

Let The Games Begin!

Hello, everyone, and good evening! It's Bobby here, back at it again with another update for you, once again.
And so, I have officially begun. The session is underway, and I've got a lot of mileage to grind, during this time!

I also wanted to give you an update, to the fundraising target being raised, as promised per my last update. And, so I have updated the target, from £315 to £400. As always, if I exceed the current target, then new targets will be added.
Speaking of reaching targets, if you'd like to donate to the cause and help reach the target of £400, then feel free to follow the instructions, on the right-hand side of the page.

And, if you're following me on the social media platforms, such as Instagram and Facebook, then you'll be receiving updates as of when they happen.
Otherwise, keep your eyes peeled for updates on the blog page, as well.

Thank you very much, and have a good night! And if you're participating this month, then I wish you too the best of luck!

A 2am Update Of Elation

Good morning, everyone! It's Bobby here, typing this message and creating this post at 2am in the morning, on the Thursday before walk-a-thon commencement!

And, thanks to an insane donation coming in late last night, we have reached the target, already! So, I must say a voluminous thank you, to you guys - you guys make it happen, so I cannot thank you enough!

So, seeing as we've now surpassed the base target, I'll be looking to update the target over the next few days! And I'll have an update for you then. Most likely, I'm going to keep the target numbers sensible, but reachable. But one never knows what could happen.

Thank you very much once again, to all of those who have donated! And if you're reading this message and would like to donate, and support a worthy cause, feel free to follow the instructions on the right hand side of the page (if in an internet browser) or halfway down (if you're on a mobile device).
Otherwise, I commence on Sunday, with full steam ahead!

Pre-Preparation For The Big Day

Good afternoon, everyone! How are you all doing? It's Bobby here. And, as we're getting closer to the start date, I have been preparing for the big day, with posters and social media posts.
Creating this beauty was a bit of a mammoth task, but I think the design and composition has really paid off.

So what's the plan for this event? Well, much like every other 'walking marathon', I'll be recording my walks through the athleisure app, known as Strava, and I'll be doing my usual vlogs, on my social media platforms. For those that know my socials very well, you'll get a head start.

With my base target of £315, this is going to be an interesting yet, mammoth task. I'll hope to record both a Strava walk and a mini-vlog every day, but that will be dependant on the days themselves. From what I've heard, there's going to be some heavy, wintry weather coming this way. And that could have an impact on the days and mileages.

That said, I am still looking forward to this, as always.
And so, I shall hope to see you at the starting line, filled with excitement! Best of luck to everyone participating this time around! May you all smash the mileage!

'Welcome Back, Once More, Bobby!'

Greetings, and salutations, everyone! How are you all doing?
I hope you're all keeping well? And, so, it's official. I have decided to partake in another 100km challenge for Great Ormond Street Hospital, for the month of February (in 2026, no less).

And, so, this is a pre-production post, explaining who I am, and how I plan to undertake this challenge:
So, my name is Bobby, Bobby Gotelee to be exact. And I have been fundraising for Great Ormond Street, since June 2015. A big fundraising passion of mine are these types of challenges, because I find it's a great way to keep the body and brain active.
And, speaking of exercise, how do I plan to undertake this challenge? Well, as many of you may or may not know, I am a huge walk-a-holic, often going long distances at any one time. Moreover, I honestly thought that walking was off of the table, as far as a way to complete this event was concerned. However, upon some research and indignation, I've been given the greenlight to go ahead.

My target is sitting at £315 for this time, as a base target. And, much like every challenge, I'll try my best to reach that target. If we surpass the target, then updates will follow.
As always, I'm quite excited to take on the challenge (a little anxious too, but that comes naturally). And, that about wraps it up for me. So, if you'd like to spread the news, that I'm taking part. feel free to share this post. Otherwise, I'll keep you updated, before, during and after. Take care!

I’m running 100km in February for GOSH Charity!

I’m challenging myself to run 100km this February to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity (GOSH Charity).

Childhood is special. It should be a time of joy, wonder, curiosity and fun. Of making friends, making mistakes, and growing into the adults we become. But it’s also fragile, and sometimes all too brief.

That’s why Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity raises funds to help give seriously ill children childhoods that are fuller, funner and longer. For the children from all over the UK who are treated by Great Ormond Street Hospital every day, for children with rare or complex illnesses everywhere, for this generation and all those to come. Because no childhood should be lost to serious illness.

And with every kilometre I run, and every pound raised, we’ll be helping to give seriously ill children the best chance and the best childhood possible.

Please help me to achieve my goal by giving whatever you can; no amount is too small to make a difference.
