Our backstory and why we are doing this!

Thank you for visiting our page and donating to this amazing cause. GOSH is already an amazing place, full of amazing doctors and nurses who do a brilliant job in saving and changing children lives everyday. We have our own personal experiences of the lifesaving work GOSH do, and want to help them do more for other children. 

We are doing this run together to help raise money for GOSH to build and develop the new Children's Cancer Centre, putting them on the frontline against children cancer. Join us to help build the Children’s Cancer Centre at GOSH and save more lives.

We are 3 siblings that have come together to fundraise and give back to the hospital that both saved our brothers life and continues to support our own children. We also have Louisa, David's wife, and Charlie, Sarah's Fiancee, and little Max, Sarah's son, joining us for the event.

Back in 2009, Dave fell ill suddenly with Pneumonia, Flu and Sepsis and was put on life support and given hours to live. He was rushed to GOSH and put into ICU on an ECMO machine, which ultimately saved his life alongside the tireless and amazing work of the GOSH doctors and nurses. Whilst this was all going on, staff at GOSH went above and beyond for our family and put our parents up in accommodation next door to the hospital so they could be together and visit anytime. Thankfully Dave made a full recovery and is now thriving and living life to the fullest.

In more recent years, Abbies little boy, Alfie, who is 2 years old, has also been referred to GOSH for several ongoing health & developmental concerns, whereby we hope we can get to the bottom of his ongoing issues. Alfie is under the Genetics Team, Endocrinology and also waiting for support from the FEDs Complex Eating Disorders Team.

We would love as a family unit to do some fun challenges together and raise as much money as we can for a brilliant cause. Any donations, no matter how small, are very much appreciated.

Needless to say, our family owes a lot to Great Ormond Street Hospital, and we all plan to go above and beyond to give back and raise money to support this amazing place where-ever and however we can.
