100k! Woohoo!

Completed my 100k with a park run ! I can’t believe I’m finished! :) thank you so much to everyone who donated and checked in on how I was doing. It really means a lot.

Park run 🏃‍♀️

Beautiful sunny morning for a park run!

Two runs in a day

I never changed out of my gym kit after park run as we met friends for breakfast and shopping so decided to get in a run before dinner 🍕

Park run 5K

Initially wasn’t too keen to drag myself out of bed on a Saturday morning to run but it was actually a beautiful morning at Linford wood with all the leaves turning orange and brown 🍂🍁 then to Wetherspoons for breakfast 🍳

Quick 2k

Quick 2k before kickboxing class!

Woohoo!

I REALLY didn’t feel like running on Sunday, both mentally and physically. I did not want to do even a single kilometre. Saturday I had a lovely day trip to Oxford with friends so it meant I needed to do 6k to keep up with the average of just over 3k a day. I finally dragged myself to the gym 7 hours after I had planned to be there and set off on a slow run just telling myself to knock at least some distance off. Well, clearly being moody, eating two cookies and slowing right down helped because I ran the FURTHEST I have ever done before. 12k!! As someone who is overweight with cranky knees, there was a time when running just 1 mile without stopping was a challenge let alone getting to over 7. Don’t get me wrong I don’t think I’ll regularly be doing this sort of distance but I’m feeling on a little high right now!

Quarter of the way there!

I AM MELTING 😅 I had initially planned to do 3k today but then I realised if I made it to 4k I would be able to reach the quarter mark which would be a lovely way to go into the weekend. I also had kickboxing again this evening although I did purposely try and be late so that I’d miss the start of warm up 😂 it was also boiling in the dojo… completely sweaty and knackered 😴

5k run

Forgot to take a photo of my feet on the treadmill, mainly due to it being so hot today I just wanted to get out of there as soon as possible… 😅

3k run

Monday is kickboxing for me but as this doesn’t count towards my goal, I squeezed in a 3k run before. It was hot today and I still feel like I’m recovering from the Wolf run, safe to say my limbs feel like they are going to fall off!

Wolf Run 10k

Yesterday I took part in the 10k Wolf Run, what an amazing day! I wasn’t sure how I’d get on but it was so much fun, the weather was perfect and the company even better! Safe to say today I am absolutely aching and a bit bruised from the obstacles. I’ll be having a rest day today. I’ve got a lovely day of a Sunday lunch, open water swim and then out to dinner with friends, safe to say I’ll be eating back any of the calories I might have burnt…

First run

First run completed :) a 3k on my lunch break. I’m not a very good runner so plan to do smaller, frequent runs especially to prevent injury (there is always some hurting or aching!). Tomorrow I’m on the wolf run which is a 10k run and obstacle course… not sure what I’ve gotten myself into but will be good fun and take a good amount off my 100k target :)

I’m running 100K in September for GOSH Charity!

I’m challenging myself to run 100 kilometres this September to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity (GOSH Charity).

Every day brings new challenges at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). Every day, around 750 seriously ill children and young people are seen at GOSH from all over the UK for life-changing treatment and care. Every day, doctors and nurses battle the most complex illnesses, and the brightest minds come together to achieve pioneering medical breakthroughs.

And with every kilometre I run, I’ll be helping GOSH Charity give seriously ill children the chance of a better future.

This extraordinary hospital has always depended on charitable support, so please help me to achieve my goal by giving whatever you can; no amount is too small to make a difference.
