Run 100K in September 2023

My Activity Tracking

My target 100 kms

This is the happy sweaty face post last run

Woohoo!

With a few days to spare, I have completed my last run in Doha. The target for the run was to watch 3 episodes of Schitt's Creek, but turns out the series are not available here in Qatar. It just had to be 3 episodes of Friends then 🙃
In that time I managed 10.33km (65mins, which was an improvement on last week's 10k run).
The total distance run in September 106km. But that's nothing in comparison to the donations you guys made. £380 of your hard earned money to help GOSH.
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

I was wondering on many runs why have I done this to myself, and having just completed it, I need you to know: I am going to think twice before signing up to any other challenges 🤣
I've already had the swim challenge being pushed at me and I am just not prepared to learn to hate swimming next 🙃

Right now I'm still slightly high on dopamine, therefore I'll signpost you to my IG channel @klaud9yoga to read some of the posts of the last few weeks if you are interested in seeing how the journey evolved.
Just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to you all for being such a good sport!
I hope to see you soon 😊 ❤️ ☁️

The lessons I teach are here to bite me

Diggidy likes swimming as much as I like running. So if I make her swim, it's only fair I make myself run!

Half way there

I am celebrating the halfway point with a day off. I need it. This week I did a lot of leg based yoga on top all the running and my body is fatigued, my mind passive/ negative.
Thank you all so much for your generous donations and for your faith in me. If it wasn't for you all I think I'd quit this whole project by now 🫣
Back to action on Saturday, taking a slight different approach for next week: longer runs to achieve more days of rest. So far the longest run I managed was just over 6k, let's see if I can better it this week. Also this week I'll have an opportunity to run on treadmill, which I know many of you dislike,  but the fact the treadmill takes care of my pacing is, what makes it easier for me. So I shall swap my favourite podcast "Ukraine: the latest" for a movie and see if I can just go for a run on a machine with pretty images infront of me.
Still loving the dip in Southwater pond more than the running lol.
Today is hard on mind and body, but a little voice is still there telling me I can do it. It really isn't as bad as I'm making it up to be. After all what do I always tell you? "The mind is first to quit". Silly mind! Doesn't it know, who it's playing with?

I’m running 100K in September for GOSH Charity!

I’m challenging myself to run 100 kilometres this September to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity (GOSH Charity).

Every day brings new challenges at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). Every day, around 750 seriously ill children and young people are seen at GOSH from all over the UK for life-changing treatment and care. Every day, doctors and nurses battle the most complex illnesses, and the brightest minds come together to achieve pioneering medical breakthroughs.

And with every kilometre I run, I’ll be helping GOSH Charity give seriously ill children the chance of a better future.

This extraordinary hospital has always depended on charitable support, so please help me to achieve my goal by giving whatever you can; no amount is too small to make a difference.
