For Evie
Our family found ourselves in a world we could never imagine in Dec 22. Evie was 15 when she developed Goodpastures syndrome. She has always been an exceptional kid, so had to have an exceptionally rare condition. Goodpastures attacks kidney and liver functions and not everyone recovers from it. Within days we had been moved to Eagle Ward while the amazing GOSH team threw everything they had to save her kidneys. Spending Christmas Day and New Year in hospital was a tough one for Evie, her brothers, in fact all of us. Goodpastures won that round and her kidneys failed, but the consultants at GOSH have played this game and knew the next move in winning the battle . Over a year of gruelling dialysis, tests, countless meds, surgeries and Gosh school for my girl and then she got a new kidney. Evie is thriving, living life as a normal 17 year old now. The journey is long but she is brave, beautiful and full of life.I’m running 100K in September for GOSH Charity!
I’m challenging myself to run 100 kilometres this September to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity (GOSH Charity).
Every day brings new challenges at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). Every day, around 750 seriously ill children and young people are seen at GOSH from all over the UK for life-changing treatment and care. Every day, doctors and nurses battle the most complex illnesses, and the brightest minds come together to achieve pioneering medical breakthroughs.
And with every kilometre I run, I’ll be helping GOSH Charity give seriously ill children the chance of a better future.
This extraordinary hospital has always depended on charitable support, so please help me to achieve my goal by giving whatever you can; no amount is too small to make a difference.
