I’m running 100K in September for GOSH Charity!

I’m challenging myself to run 100 kilometres this September to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity (GOSH Charity).

Little Oscar

As many of you will know, our little boy Oscar was born with a rare vascular tumour or Kaposiform Haemangioendothelioma. We had no idea during the pregnancy that there was anything wrong and are so grateful he arrived safely. It has now been a year since Oscar arrived and also a year since we were inpatients at GOSH for Oscars first weeks. We are very lucky that Oscar continues to recover and thrive as a smiley, bubbly little boy and that is largely down to the expert care he received.

It feels like the right time to do something to say thank you for the amazing care we received and continue to experience at GOSH. Not only did they help Oscar when he was so tiny but they also supported us during those early weeks of being parents with the worry that comes with having an unwell baby. I’m still working on rebuilding my fitness levels but I going to try my best to run 100k in September to raise money for GOSH. Most of my runs will be with Oscar in the running buggy, it seems only right that he join me! It also adds a good bit of added weight and resistance so please give generously…….!!

Every day brings new challenges at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). Every day, around 750 seriously ill children and young people are seen at GOSH from all over the UK for life-changing treatment and care. Every day, doctors and nurses battle the most complex illnesses, and the brightest minds come together to achieve pioneering medical breakthroughs.

And with every kilometre I run, I’ll be helping GOSH Charity give seriously ill children the chance of a better future.
