New View

Running in Portugal

Day Twenty Seven

Ran two miles round the marina in Vilamoura. Up early to run as it’s far too hot later on. Running music, David Morales Needin U

Day Twenty Six

Walked. Busy busy.

Day Twenty Five

Walked today. Bit round Hebden.

Day Twenty Four

Three mile walk in Manchester today to and from work. Rushing about tonight getting organised for holiday!

Day Twenty Three

Back to running today. Ran round Sowerby whilst eldest plays first half of football match. Back to watch second half. Todays music motivation was Rihanna Work.

Day Twenty Two

Walking day today. Knee muscle feeling a bit off. Back to running tomorrow.

Day Twenty One

Past the twenty days mark. Well past the goal of 26.2. Just planning to keep on going.

Day Twenty

Run round the reservoir after work. Tonight’s motivation music was David Morales Needin U

Day Nineteen

Walk in the village with the boys tonight after school pickup.

Day Eighteen

Another 2 miles round the reservoir. Going to switch it up next time and run somewhere different. Todays music De La Soul, Magic Number.

Day Seventeen

Loooooong day. Managed two mile walks before and after work. No running as ended up doing way longer work hours than intended. Absolutely knackered!

Day Sixteen

Another couple of miles today, running round Ossett during first half of the football match. Back to watch eldest play the second half now. Todays music was Paramore, Ain’t it fun.

Day Fifteen

Another 2k run done, not great pace as running with Rudy. But we’re out there getting on with it that’s what matters.

Day Fourteen

Walk with Rudy today. Probably 5k in cleaning the house after Easter holidays!! Not counting that though!

Day Thirteen

Back to running round the reservoir tonight. Slightly improved pace from last time. Small steps. Tonight’s music Nas Get Down

Day Twelve

No sitter today, so another indoor workout.

Day Eleven

Walked the mile today, giving the achey muscles a rest.

Day Ten

Busy day today. Late afternoon run round the reservoir. Slightly faster today. Managed to run in between downpours, just a bit if drizzle.
Todays music Fred Again, Delilah.

Day Nine

Ride today, not feeling very energetic. Back to running tomorrow.

Day Eight

Exceeded my target fundraising. So chuffed about that! Also up to 17 miles completed out of the 26.2 goal. So when I get there I’ll just keep going try and double it. Todays foggy run was driven by musical motivation from a Tribe called quest, Electric Relaxation.

Day Seven

Didn’t want to aggravate anything today, so stuck to a walk round the village with Rudy. Hopefully back to the run tomorrow.

Day Six

Run round the reservoir. Legs were not happy tonight, knew it was off then felt a ping. The dodgy knee is probably to blame, glute taking the strain of the weak knee. Put heat on it. Will ice it and see if that helps. Tonight’s music was faith hill, love like this.

Day Five

Kids off school and all at home. Been rainy most of the day. So a mile on the indoor bike instead. Followed with a few weights.

Day Four

Another day of walking and after work run. Round the reservoir. Happy with the pace.

Day Three

Walked to and from the train station today. Only recorded one way, which is one mile. Will be out for a run after work.
Adding the after work run now in the village. Todays running music was lean on, major Lazer

Day Two

Second run done 2.2 km whilst Evan plays football. No others with me today so managed to get round faster. Feeling pretty good. Knee holding up alright. Todays music was Lady Gaga, telephone.

Day One

First run under my belt. Whilst Evan was at football practice, I ran 1.7km (one mile) with youngest in tow. Zigzagging across the pitch. Pretty muddy, but that didn’t deter us!

I’m running 26.2 miles throughout April to help beat childhood cancer!

All the funds raised for the Run 26.2 Miles in April 2023 challenge will go towards the development of new cancer care facilities at Great Ormond Street Hospital. In the event that costs change, or the needs of the hospital or patients change, we reserve the right to redirect funds for use against the hospital’s most urgent needs. If you have any questions about this, please contact us at facebookchallenges@gosh.org.

Every week, around five children in the UK lose their lives to cancer. That’s five families who are faced with the worst news possible.

For every child, parent and family – it's time to beat it.

Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) treats the most seriously ill children from across the UK and sees the most rare and difficult-to-treat childhood cancers.

It’s time to push the boundaries. Through world-class facilities, pioneering research projects and cutting-edge treatments, we can help build a better future for children with cancer.

I'm proud to be part of the Run 26.2 Miles in April challenge to help take the research, technology, facilities and care GOSH delivers to the next level.

By sponsoring me, you are making an impact in helping GOSH give children with cancer the extraordinary care, expertise and facilities they need.

There’s still a long way to go. But every mile matters. And we'll get there together.

Together we can run it. Together we can help beat childhood cancer.
