Why I’m running 100k
I’ve gone back and forth for a long time about whether to do something like this. Running 100K is huge it’s uncomfortable and honestly it scares me a bit but that’s exactly why I knew it was the right thing to do.
Charlie has been facing challenges his whole life. Since the age of one Great Ormond Street Hospital has been part of our world getting us through moments of uncertainty hope and resilience. Charlie has been through two major surgeries that didn’t go to plan yet somehow he keeps proving everyone wrong. He gets up moves forward and never lets anything define or limit him.
Watching Charlie face life with such strength puts everything into perspective. If he can keep pushing through every obstacle placed in front of him then I can lace up my trainers and take on 100K.
This run isn’t about times or distances it’s about gratitude. It’s about saying thank you to the incredible team at GOSH who have supported Charlie and our family every step of the way. It’s also about raising awareness and giving something back so they can continue changing lives like they’ve changed ours.
This is just the beginning. I’ll be sharing the ups the tough days the training miles and the moments where I question my sanity but every step will be for Charlie and for GOSH.
Thank you for being part of this journey 💜
I’m running 100km in February for GOSH Charity!
This February I’ve decided to run 100K for a cause that is incredibly close to our hearts Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Our son Charlie has been under the care of GOSH since he was just one year old. He’s now 14. Over the years he has been supported by the most incredible team in the plastics department. Charlie has undergone two major surgeries at the ages of four and eight. Although neither surgery went to plan the care he received both physically and mentally has been truly outstanding.
Despite everything Charlie has completely defied the odds. He has shown us all that nothing can stop him and that there really isn’t anything he can’t do. Every hurdle placed in front of him he’s jumped straight over and even his own medical team are amazed at how well he’s doing given the challenges he’s faced.
Great Ormond Street Hospital has been such a huge part of our lives the compassion, dedication and support they’ve shown our family is something we will be forever grateful for. Running this 100K is my way of saying thank you and giving something back to a place that means so much to us.
Any support big or small would mean the world. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts 💜
