Frequently Asked Questions
About the challenge
What is Ride for Childhood?
Rally your cycling club and fundraise for Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity (GOSH Charity) throughout the month of March. The more you cycle and fundraise, the more opportunities you'll have to win rewards for your club, whilst climbing up our leaderboards to see how you fair against other clubs.
When is the challenge?
We’re asking cycling clubs and groups to take part in the challenge throughout the month of March. You can choose to do your fundraising and activity throughout this time in a way that works for your club or group.
How are you managing different club membership sizes?
Getting Started
How do I sign up? How does it work?
Firstly, someone from your club will need to register your club or group for free. It’s quick and easy to do. Once that’s complete, other members can join that club, using the ‘find my club’ functionality when registering as an individual.
How do I choose my club size?
To make the leaderboards fairer, we ask each club to let us know the size of their club when registering. A small club is 70 members, a medium club is 71 - 200 members and a large club is 201+.
How can I invite my members to join our club?
Duis aute irure dolor in reprehenderit in voluptate velit esse cillum dolore eu fugiat nulla pariatur. Excepteur sint occaecat cupidatat non proident, sunt in culpa qui officia deserunt mollit anim id est laborum.
Fundraising
Is there a fundraising target?
When your club registers, you’ll be asked to choose a target suitable for your team to work towards. You can change this target at any time.
What is my fundraising page?
Each team will have a Team Fundraising Page, which will have all individuals who have registered as part of that team under it. All pages can be personalised with your story, updates of your challenges and pictures.
Can I fundraising offline too?
If you fundraise offline, we'd recommend paying it in to your Funraisin page to keep all of your fundraising in one place and included in your automatic reward entries.
How do we fundraise as a team? Do you have any ideas?
We’ve pulled together a guide of ideas to help inspire your fundraising which will be shared with you once you’ve registered. You can use these ideas or use them as inspiration to think of your own, suitable for your club and it’s members.
And remember, it doesn’t always have to be a cycling challenge. Could members donate the price of their coffee on their ride or could you all get together socially for a quiz night?
Prizes and Experiences
How do the prize ballots work?
Each prize has a different fundraising target against it. Once you hit that target, you’ll be entered into a prize draw to win that item or experience. For every time you hit that target again, you’ll gain an extra entry into it, increasing your chances of winning.
I'm a club leader. How do I manage the prizes for our club?
If you win one of our prizes for your club, you are able to choose what you do with it. This could be for the person who raised the most individually, who stood out with their distance travelled or any other reason. We encourage all clubs to treat all members equally when considering what to do with the prizes and experiences won for their club.
Tracking distance
How do we track our distance?
Each individual will have their own Funraisin page. Each individual can sync their Strava, Garmin, MapMyRun or Fitbit app in your Dashboard. There is also an option to add your miles manually too.
I’m having problems with my distance activity showing or updating. What do I do?
Once you log an acitivity, it can take up to 24 hours for this to be added to your distance total and reflect on the graph on your fundraising page.
There is nothing you need to do, your tally will automatically updated each day with the previous day’s distances.
If your distance hasn't been added to your total after 24 hours, please get in touch with the team at EMAIL and we'll take a look at this for you.
