Longest walk so far this August/Challenge

Today was our longest walk of The Great Family Walk and our children had the best fun! We started off at Hawkesbury Stores where they little chose a small sweet to enjoy on their walk! We all loved exploring the local bridleway and finding beautiful hares, butterfly’s and dragonfly’s! We stopped and had some lovely chats with our neighbours, on route home to have a celebratory ice-cream from the freezer! I am so incredibly proud of all 4 of them and their perseverance! 

First 2.10 miles complete!

Beautiful lunchtime family walk today. We walked 2.10 miles; with a few pauses to listen to a woodpecker busy at work, look at some beautiful coloured leaves and to collect some different coloured feathers.

Our family have joined the Great Family Walk 2026! 

This August, our family is joining The Great Family Walk!

GOSH already cares for children with the hardest to treat cancers, and new treatments are giving hope to children and their families. But these advances have outstripped GOSH's current cancer facilities.

We need a new home for breakthrough treatments and pioneering research, so we can save more children's lives. And because cancer shouldn't get to steal anyone's childhood, we need a place that's more than a hospital – a place that's a school, a playground, a garden, and so much more.

All the funds raised from The Great Family Walk will go towards the development of cancer care at Great Ormond Street Hospital. In the event that costs change, or the needs of the hospital or patients change, we reserve the right to redirect funds for use against the hospital’s most urgent needs.
