The Great Family Walk 2025

All the funds raised from The Great Family Walk will go towards the development of cancer care at Great Ormond Street Hospital. In the event that costs change, or the needs of the hospital or patients change, we reserve the right to redirect funds for use against the hospital’s most urgent needs.

Why I’m Walking 42 Miles for Great Ormond Street Hospital…….

As a father, I count my blessings every single day. My child is healthy, happy, and thriving something I will never take for granted. But I know all too well that not every parent gets to say the same. That’s why, alongside my family, I’ll be walking 42 miles to support the new wing at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH).

This walk isn’t just about the miles or the challenge. It’s about doing something, however small, to help other families who are going through the unthinkable. It’s about making sure no parent ever has to worry if there will be enough space, enough support, or enough help when their child is in need. Hospitals like GOSH don’t just treat children they hold families together during their darkest days.

For me, this is personal. I’ve been fortunate not to need a place like Great Ormond Street, but that doesn’t mean I can look away. It’s not just a hospital, it’s a lifeline. And if this walk means helping build a better space, with more beds, more specialists, and more comfort for families, then every step is worth it.

I hope our walk raises not just money, but awareness. Behind every donation is a story, a child, a parent who just wants to be told, “We’ve got space for you. We can help.” That’s what this new wing will do and it’s something we all have the power to support.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. If you’re able to donate or share our story, know that you’re helping more than just a hospital. You’re helping families find hope, strength, and the care they need when they need it most.

This June, our family will be lacing up our trainers to take on the Great Family Walk.

We’ll be walking 42 miles between us throughout the month, the distance of the Mount Kilimanjaro Climb, whilst raising money to help build the new Children’s Cancer Centre at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH).

Your donations will help to keep us all motivated to get out there and clock up the miles, but they’ll also help to beat cancer for more children.

Childhood and cancer. Two words that should never go together.

But, every week, around five children in the UK lose their lives to cancer. That’s five families who are faced with the worst news possible.

GOSH already cares for children with the hardest-to-treat cancers, and new treatments are giving hope to kids across the UK. But these advances have outstripped GOSH’s current cancer facilities.

Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity (GOSH Charity) needs your help to build a new home for breakthrough treatments and pioneering research, so we can help save more children’s lives.

Together, we can Walk it. Build it. Beat it.
