GOSH Race for the Kids!
We are taking part in the 5K Race for the Kids in October to raise funds for the new Children’s Cancer Centre at Great Ormand Street! We will be doing the race on behalf on my nephew, Freddy.As many of you will already know, my baby nephew, Freddy, was diagnosed with AML (Acute Myeloid Leukaemia) in January 2023 at just 5 months old. In the many months that Freddy spent undergoing treatment we were able to see the wonders of Great Ormand Street, he underwent 4 rounds of chemotherapy and a BMT (bone marrow transplant). The nurses on Freddy’s ward became family and we have always called the nurses ‘Freddy’s bonus aunties’. We were able to experience the unconditional efforts of nurses and doctors that go into caring for children like Freddy. We are now 1 year post transplant and Freddy is doing amazingly well.
Great Ormand Street is a one of a kind place and any donations no matter how big or small are going to a seriously wonderful place.
