The Great Family Walk 2025

All the funds raised from The Great Family Walk will go towards the development of cancer care at Great Ormond Street Hospital. In the event that costs change, or the needs of the hospital or patients change, we reserve the right to redirect funds for use against the hospital’s most urgent needs.

2.6 miles between Leo and myself

Today we went for a walk round our local nature reserve - been there many times to the coffee shop and little park, but never done any of the trails. We started with the estuary trail 0.3 miles and got some lovely photos and then moved onto the meadow trail which was 1 mile

I used to walk everywhere and LOVED it. I definitely used to walk Steve’s feet off in London, BUT then my MS diagnosis came along and I’ve struggled at times to walk to the end of our road.

However, now my condition has become more stable after treatment, I want to get back into walking (and lose some of the weight I’ve put on due to medication that’s been pumped into me).

Sitting in 360 a sign came up for the 42 mile challenge and I couldn’t think of a better incentive than this challenge for GOSH (42 miles in June) and if we can raise money in the process an even bigger bonus.

Alfie and Leo are joining me in this challenge, so if you would like to kindly support us and add a donation, we will be very grateful.

You will be able to follow our progress throughout the month of June - with daily updates from myself

This June, our family will be lacing up our trainers to take on the Great Family Walk.

We’ll be walking 42 miles between us throughout the month, the distance of the Mount Kilimanjaro Climb, whilst raising money to help build the new Children’s Cancer Centre at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH).

Your donations will help to keep us all motivated to get out there and clock up the miles, but they’ll also help to beat cancer for more children.

Childhood and cancer. Two words that should never go together.

But, every week, around five children in the UK lose their lives to cancer. That’s five families who are faced with the worst news possible.

GOSH already cares for children with the hardest-to-treat cancers, and new treatments are giving hope to kids across the UK. But these advances have outstripped GOSH’s current cancer facilities.

Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity (GOSH Charity) needs your help to build a new home for breakthrough treatments and pioneering research, so we can help save more children’s lives.

Together, we can Walk it. Build it. Beat it.
